KCHW Underwriting (Sponsor for around as little as $3 per day!)

What is “Underwriting” and what are “Credit Announcements”  :

While listener-members are important sponsors of KCHW, we also welcome and need support from local businesses and other non-profits via underwriting. Underwriting credit announcements are brief identifying messages broadcast on KCHW to recognize businesses and organizations that provide financial support for our programming. By underwriting a KCHW program, a business contributes to KCHW operations and is acknowledged for it during that program. Businesses may underwrite with money or with a trade of goods or services.

What underwriting is not:

Underwriting is not advertising. KCHW is committed to our non-commercial status and adheres strictly to the FCC's definition of non-commercial.

So why underwrite? So that your organization or business can:

 - Receive radio exposure and support KCHW’s local, community powered programming at the same time.

 - Build relationships with KCHW listeners, members, volunteers; as well as with the communities served by the station.

 - Enhance your reputation and gain public recognition as a supporter of community radio.

 -  Receive additional perks such as listings and links to your business from KCHW’s website.

And MOST importantly with an average of only 2 announcements per hour, your announcement will never     get lost in a flurry of commercials! Our listeners will notice, remember and appreciate businesses and     groups who support their community radio station!

Scheduling Underwriting Credit Announcements:

-Underwriting credit announcements are broadcast at the beginning and/or end of program hours.

-The maximum duration of announcements is 15 seconds (20 seconds for non-profit organizations).  Announcements for morning news and weather reports are limited to 10 seconds.

-The minimum frequency for an announcement is once daily in 13, 26 or 52 week plans.

-Businesses and organizations that promote or present events may underwrite a selection of various   programs for 2-3 weeks prior to their scheduled event. (Please see “Short-term Underwriting Rates and   contact KCHW for more information.)
